LOOKING FOR AN APPRENTICESHIP? - Discover what makes DICOTA so special as a training company!

We asked ourselves this question and went into dialogue with our Swiss apprentice Silas to find out why he chose DICOTA as an employer and how he perceives his time as an apprentice.

How did you come to DICOTA and what made you decide to start your apprenticeship as a commercial clerk EFZ here?

Silas: I've always been very interested in sales and I always found commercial subjects exciting at school. When I was looking for an apprenticeship, I came across DICOTA by chance. It was important to me to start at a company that is not only active in Switzerland or Germany, but also works internationally. I also liked the products. Everyone needs laptop cases and office accessories and DICOTA is particularly focussed on sustainability and innovative ideas. That's exactly what I liked about the company.

It sounds like you thought about your decision carefully. What was it about DICOTA's training programme that particularly impressed you?

Silas: What convinced me was the varied training programme. A lot of emphasis is placed here on ensuring that trainees not only learn theory, but can also gain direct practical experience. For us trainees, this means that we regularly work on projects and are also allowed to take on tasks independently. We are also allowed to attend customer meetings and take part in training courses. We also get the chance to work more in the areas that interest us. That makes the work fun.

Can you name a few aspects that you particularly like about your work and training at DICOTA?

Silas: As an apprentice, I have to say that the team here is the greatest. There is a very collegial and supportive atmosphere. Whether I have questions or need support, my colleagues and bosses are always there for me and are willing to help. I also appreciate the international nature of the company. I get the chance to get a taste of different markets and cultures here, which is very important and really exciting in sales.

It sounds like you are learning a lot at DICOTA, not only in sales but also interculturally. Is there anything you would like to pass on to future applicants?

Silas: If anyone is thinking about starting an apprenticeship at DICOTA, my tip is to be open to new things, show a willingness to help and be motivated to work independently. If you have the confidence to do this, then you should definitely apply! Because DICOTA really is a great training company.

As a forward-looking company, DICOTA regularly offers apprenticeships to promote talented and motivated people.
