Sustainability at DICOTA

Sustainability at DICOTA

Since the start of the DICOTA ECO series, we have given a second life to more than 3.9 million rPET bottles in over 450,000 carrying solutions. Conscious and sustainable handling is an essential part of shaping the future. Therefore, we want to replace the main material for all our textile products with recycled alternatives by the end of 2022.

From now on, our hangtags also play their part in respecting nature: The papers are FSC certified to use the resources of the forest in a sustainable and responsible way.

Furthermore, the hangtags are printed with soy ink. In contrast to conventional printing ink, which consists of petroleum, soy-based ink is more environmentally friendly and renewable. There is also no compromise with this ink on behalf of quality.

With this knowledge, you can dispose of every hangtag carefree in the waste paper. But of course only after careful reading.

We focus a lot on sustainability and recycling. Below you will find some facts that are interesting for all of us:

  • Almost one million plastic beverage bottles are sold worldwide. Per minute.

  • On average, each person produces 0.74 kilograms of waste per day. With an average global life expectancy of 72 years, almost 19.5 tonnes of waste are produced per person.

  • By 2015, more than 8.3 billion tonnes of plastic waste were produced globally. Of this:
    9 percent recycled
    12 percent burnt
79 percent landfilled or disposed in the environment

  • The average global recycling rate is 14 percent.

  • Researchers estimate that another 34 billion tonnes of plastic will be produced by 2050.

  • Estimates of the longevity of plastics range from 450 years to "forever".

With our ECO products we not only offer excellent quality, a constant companion and the result of many years of experience, but we also help to protect the environment and support the promotion and control of working conditions that go beyond the usual.
