Business Social Compliance Initiative BSCI

As a member of BSCI (www.bsci-intl.org) ), DICOTA is deeply dedicated to improving working conditions in global supply chains. BSCI's eleven-point charter not only covers comprehensive worker protection but also health and safety provisions and workplace equality. Protection against child labour is also part of the Code of Conduct providing appropriate training measures for young people. Our team in Hong Kong makes sure that our partners and suppliers also fully comply with criteria on-site.

Environmental protection is another key principle of the initiative. DICOTA feels deeply committed to the environment. We lay the foundations for sustainable and environmentally friendly solutions starting at the drawing table.

We create the basis for long-lasting solutions by using high-quality materials and careful workmanship, and underscore this by providing a lifetime* guarantee on our notebook bags

Environmentally friendly materials

Consistent recycling helps to conserve resources. For example, DICOTA focuses on sustainable alternatives when selecting materials. Our ECO products are made from recycled PET which reduces burdens on the environment. Used drinking bottles are recycled and cut into PET flakes instead of being burned. These flakes are then spun into yarn and later processed into fabric – the ecologically sound basis for our ECO bags.

DICOTA goes one step further. For our marketing materials and office supplies, we use FSC-certified products wherever possible, for example, for catalogues, printing paper and envelopes. Through the targeted promotion of responsible forest management, FSC is committed to reducing environmental pollution, protecting human rights and avoiding uncontrolled deforestation.

Minimisation of waste and harmful substances

We attach great importance to using resources carefully, minimising waste and substituting harmful substances when designing our products. We monitor the consumption of water and electricity and continually strive to keep our transport routes as short as possible and to further increase efficiency. Adhesives, textile coatings, but also plastic parts and packaging often contain substances which are harmful for humans and the environment. With elaborate design concepts and ongoing controls, we check the materials used and ensure that they live up to our high standards.
